A Vibrant Blending of Traditions

A gorgeous mingling of religion and culture

This wedding weekend celebrated both the bride and groom’s religions, cultures, and traditions, starting off with a colorful sangeet filled with food, music, and dance on night one. The next day featured a Punjabi wedding ceremony at Green Gables Estate, which played into the venue’s polished garden surroundings.

The third and final day of the weekend featured a Catholic Mass at Mission Santa Clara, followed by a reception at the family home of the bride’s parents. Inspiration from stained glass windows were incorporated throughout much of the design, starting with the Save the Date and extending to the Punjabi mandap and reception seating display following the Catholic Mass.

THE INVITATION

This suite drew inspiration from stained glass windows. TPD created this invite with two laser-cut pieces of a paper and translucent vellum in between. The design incorporated native California flowers along with cherry blossoms, which surrounded the couple when they got married.

The beautiful mandap at the Punjabi ceremony played into the day’s English Garden aesthetic.

CUSTOM BOX

With three distinct events, the couple opted for a box invitation that provided guests with easy access to all the details. The box was rich with distinct shapes and textures, all wrapped with custom printed linen.

Bright, beautiful colors played a huge part in each piece of event branding. This cohesive vibrancy allowed each event to feel connected.

LOUIE ILLUSTRATION

During their engagement, the couple welcomed Louie, an English bulldog, to their family. We created a custom illustration of Louie that was first introduced in the Save the Date and later incorporated into a neon sign at the Sangeet.

The Punjabi wedding lunch menu, complete with tassel embellishment, doubled as a beautiful fan that guests could use under the California sun.

PICTURE-PERFECT BASKETS

Guests received a welcome basket that could later be reused for picnics, complete with the couple’s favorite treats and some locally sourced wine.

SEATING DISPLAY

For the final event, large stained glass windows acted as the seating display, complete with individual tiles for each guest to receive their assignment.
