Cartolina

The debut of a romantic womenswear brand, inspired by travel and nostalgia.

Cartolina (Italian for “postcard”) is a womenswear brand designed for those who love to wander, be lost in the moment, and dress in the relics of life’s adventures. TPD developed the brand tagline, “The memory you wear,” taking inspiration from the brand’s coastal Nantucket headquarters and its admiration of vintage treasures.

To enrich Cartolina’s travel-minded name and persona, TPD found inspiration in vintage postage stamps and motifs. We developed a visual brand using scenic hues of campanula blue and lemon yellow to evoke images of the European seashore. With these elements, TPD developed Cartolina’s website, social media launch, and packaging, creating a multi-medium brand story that illustrated the line’s themes of optimism and coastal wandering.

SQUEEZING THE MOST OUT OF LEMONS

TPD created brand elements that highlight signature patterns and elements seen throughout Zoë Rosenberg’s unique designs. This repeating lemon pattern acts as a common thread among seasonal collections and can be applied using a variety of brand colors.

Digital mood boards highlighting each season’s conceptualization give customers a glimpse into the creative process.

PACKAGING

Online retail is a vital piece of Cartolina’s business model. TPD designed and produced poly mailers and custom boxes for shipping, utilizing the brand postage stamp designs to personalize and extend the brand experience.
