Coastal Charm on the Cape
A seaside wedding weekend at the Chatham Bars Inn
This scenic Cape Cod wedding invited guests for a weekend at the Chatham Bars Inn. Tapping into the area’s classic seaside charm and breathtaking views, guests were first welcomed by a curated selection of Cape-inspired snacks and goods.
The weekend’s first event was dubbed Carbone by the Sea, which was catered by the beloved New York restaurant. After a tranquil outdoor ceremony overlooking the ocean, guests were escorted to cocktail hour, which was designed to feel like the family’s home on the Cape. Thousands of hydrangeas, grown and shipped from Holland, as well as cheerful sunflowers, decked out the space. Guests accessed the speakeasy-themed after party with a custom key tag and code. Once inside, a ‘20s-inspired art deco lounge (and an epic performance) closed out the night.
SAVE THE DATE
The Save-the-Date suite was wrapped with a custom etched brass tag and tied with a navy rope cord. The pocket was lasercut to resemble a compass, finished on handmade, deckled edge blue paper. A letterpress map of Cape Cod, featuring a hydrangea motif, teased what was in store.
A linen folder with laser-cut detailing introduced the multi-layer invitation suite.
THE WELCOME BAG
Guests checked in and were given room keys in a customized folder, along with a carefully curated welcome bag which featured Chatham-specific candies and snacks, as well as a few games and information for the weekend.
CARBONE BY THE SEA
The couple brought Carbone, an Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village, to Chatham for the Rehearsal Dinner. The menu, dubbed “Carbone by the Sea,” adorned each setting with nautical accents and jute rope.
The cocktail hour was designed for guests to feel as if they were visiting the family's home on the Cape.
COCKTAIL HOUR
Chinoiserie and toile accented this seaside wedding. The nautical theme held true as guests made their way to the sunflower-filled escort wall, which held seat assignments on the bottom of personalized anchors.
Following the reception, guests were whisked away to The Brown’s Social Club.
THE AFTER PARTY
For a speakeasy-themed after party, access was granted with a die-cut key tag, designed to mimic the style of a vintage hotel key. Black and gold were the standout colors at The Brown’s Social Club.
