Thrill of the Hunt at Camp Round Top

An incomparable glamping excursion

To coincide with a celebrated antiques fair in Round Top, Texas, guests were invited to a one-of-a-kind glamping experience. A camp was built on nearby Bader Ranch for the occasion, fully equipped with a central gathering and dining tent, as well as a perimeter of personal bedroom tents customized for each guest’s interests.

In addition to the fair, each day of the camp carried a new theme that informed decor, gifting, entertainment, and the evening’s menu and dress code. Themes included Tapas and Tacos Welcome, Villa Oasis in Marrakesh, an organic Field Dinner, and a Ralph Lauren Chic Ranch Supper.

THE INVITATION

The invitation was designed to feel truly custom and unique. A linen invitation box contained a layered, tactile set of cards highlighting each day of the event, each using unique materials, patterns, and textures to reflect the day. As guests moved through the box layer by layer, materials included linen, metal, velvet, suede, marbled acrylic, felt, and leather.

The Field Dinner menu was printed on camel card stock and embellished with a white wax seal and wheat stalks.

CREATURE COMFORTS

An etched wood sign welcomed guests to their sleeping quarters. Inside, campers found an array of carefully selected gifts, including personalized Hunter boots, raincoats, embroidered pillowcases with guest initials, an etched water carafe, a Happy Camper kit, and much more.

Mixed materials and patterns allowed every detail of the guest experience to feel personal.

VILLA OASIS DINNER

This evening was inspired by the Yves Saint Laurent Villa in Marrakech. The dinner menu was shaped in the style of Moroccan tile, finished with an orange tassel. Menu pages fanned out to reveal each course.

Leather menus were burnished and laced for a Tacos & Tapas dinner. Chef Yann Nury’s tortillas featured the CRT logo.

CHIC RALPH LAUREN RANCH SUPPER

The final night included a Ralph Lauren-inspired supper, with etched and laser-cut aluminum menus on a harvest table. The drink menu was printed on lucite and backed by a fur-on cowhide. An etched wood sign invited guests to customize denim jackets with chain stitch patches for a bespoke takeaway gift.
